Entry to Penny Black Blog Hop

OK IT'S NEWS TIME and all change at Penny Black Saturday...the blog's had a make-over...a brand new look for another change...they are moving to a MONTHLY challenge on the first Saturday of each month. Here is my entry.

 

I have used two penny black stamps, Delicate Floral, which i stamped with clear Emboss stamp pad and i embossed it with white wow embossing powder, and Scented Message from J&C Creations. I have used white card and distressed white card with Distress Ink, Victorian velvet.

This stamp (scented message) i have coloured with Tim Holtz Distress markers. I coluored the stamp and then stamped it on white card. The flowers are Spellbinders Bitty Blossom, which i cut out with white paper and distressed with Victorian velvet. The leaves are from the same Spellbinders.

Jayne Nestorenko is Back

I have had this amazing secret that I have just been itching to tell you all, my new friend and amazing stamper and Designer Jayne Nestorenko is back in town with her own range of stamps and a brand new Website, The stamps will be released at the end of the month when the website will go live. I have been lucky enough to have had 2 weeks playing with these fabulous stamps, they are a colourers dream and although they do take time to colour the end result is so worth the extra effort. So with out more ado I will show you the first card I made with the stamps and tell you a bit more about the collection.

 

The collection is called Just My Imagination “Grand Journeys” and consists of 7 stamp plates - 3 images of ladies from different parts of the world, 3 background stamps and a sheet of accessories. On this card i have used the Indian Princess and the corners are from the same stamp set. You will have to keep popping back to find out the rest of the collection.

I have coloured this with pro-markers. The colours i have used are:

Face-ginger, honeycomb, apricot and saffron. Lips-lipstick red, and blossom.

Clothes-aubergine,plum, and maroon. Fusia pink and pink carnation

Corners- plum, maroon, and mulberry

Learning a new technique.

Yesterday Jacqui and I attended a fabulous course in Maidstone given by the awesome LisaB from Lisa.B Designs, we were learning to use a brayer and working with fabulous Lavina Stamps. It was a really great afternoon and we learnt alot. So i thought i would show you exactly what we learnt.

Here is the card I made at the class, I would love to say I brayed the background, but unfortunately I didn’t it was a one of a number of card blanks that was on sale at the Mobile Shop in the Hall. I did stamp it though I used Milled Lavender and Black Archival Ink to stamp the flowers, fairy and unicorn, then added Gold stickles to the Flowers, the middle was cut with nesties and matted and 3d back on to the card blank, I think it looks great.

 

 

 

 

 

This is my first attempt at brayering,  Thanks Lisa I had a brilliant afternoon and came home really fired up.

Something Really Different

This is something a little bit different, Jacqui and I found a wonderful craft heaven really near to home, J&C Creations. Wow!!!!!!!!! that place is an Aladdin's Cave full of wonderful and unusual Goodies, well as you can guess my Stash Diet flew out of the window I was like a child in a sweetshop. We also met 2 amazing crafters I am sure lots of you have seen and admired their work at shows, Julie Tidey and Lisa Baker, who despite getting ready for shows at Edinburgh and Newcastle and being really busy spent time showing Jacqui and I lots of new techniques and ideas, thank you both girls, we both came away inspired and ready to try new techniques. J & C Creations have an open day at their Premises in Maidstone at the beginning of each month but of course the website is open 24/7. We had such a good time and it was the lift we both needed.

The butterfly is a Marianne design die.I have made the border down the sides with extra thick embossing powder, and Silver Halo Mix Glitter, the simple White Flowers have been coloured with distress inks  and I have added  Silver Halo Mix Glitter, These products are so new they have not been uploaded to the website yet but will be in the next few weeks, but they will be available at the Shows.

This one is from the topper section from the new CD. I think it is so cute. The sentiment and the belt are also from the CD. There is so much on the CD. I have also used co-ordinations paper. The backing papers used are from the original Humphreys Corner Crafting Collection CD – (the Allsorts Disk). They all work beautifully together.

Humphrey launches on Create and Craft Sunday 22nd and the shows are 11am, 2pm & 5pm, then Monday 9am, 11am, 6pm.

An A-May-Zing CD

Crafters Companion challenge 23. Four legged friends

Hello all, back to crafting after a fantastic couple of days in Darlington. The weather was fantastic, really warm and sunny. So after going to see everyone at Crafters Companion which was lovely we went to High Falls which was beautiful. The second day we was up there we met up with some lovely ladies at our hotel to catch up and craft. (more catching up than crafting.)

 

This cute mouse is from the latest release of Beatrix Potter Die Cut Decoupage. I think she is so cute.The backing paper is co-ordinations paper from CC which i have embossed with the new Darice embossing folders which is also from CC.

Sorry this is a bit blurred. I love this card it is from the cd. It is out of the stamping companion section. I have used brown memento ink to stamp the image. Everything else is from one A4 sheet from the cd.

This little boy is adorable. Also from the cd even the flower. There is so much on this cd it is hard to choose they are all so lovely.

Blue Popcorn

Morning to you all. It was my Grandsons second birthday on Monday and he has a blue teddy bear and a blue blanket that has to go everywhere with him. So for his Birthday card there was only one thing for him. It had to be Popcorn.

 

 

I think he looks adorable blue I'm going to have to try different colours.
